United boss Erik ten Hag is said to have held positive talks with Juventus star Adrien Rabiot.

Hide AdAccording to Fabrizio Romano, the Dutch boss has been in direct talks with the midfielder over a possible move to Old Trafford.
“At the moment the negotiation between Manchester United and Veronique Rabiot is still ongoing,” Romano told CaughtOffside.
“Erik ten Hag had a direct call with Adrien Rabiot on Monday and it was positive, now the two parties are negotiating on the financial and project plan.”
De Jong update
United are still said to be pushing for a deal to sign Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong.

Hide Ad“I understand here at the Dutch end, that Frenkie de Jong is still an absolute number one priority for Erik ten Hag and the club,” Marcel Van der Kraan said live on Sky Sports News.
“And they’re certainly not giving up no matter what Frenkie says in Barcelona. They have a deal with the agent of the player.
“It just depends on what is happening in the political department of Barcelona over his wages which they still owe him.”
Gakpo blow
Reported United target Cody Gakpo will not be sold before August 24.

That could make it difficult for clubs to sign Gakpo, given there will only be a week remaining in the transfer window at that point.
