Manchester United are still searching frantically for new signings ahead of the September deadline.

The Red Devils came into this summer knowing they needed significant additions after losing key players.

But while they have added some new stars, they haven’t done anywhere near enough to be ready to compete at the top end of the table.

And that has led to frustration from fans, who are still very angry with the club’s owners.

In the meantime, United will be trying to add new signings in a hurry to improve on their opening day defeat, and with that in mind, we have rounded up all the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding Old Trafford.

Rabiot latest

United boss Erik ten Hag is said to have held positive talks with Juventus star Adrien Rabiot.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Dutch boss has been in direct talks with the midfielder over a possible move to Old Trafford.

“At the moment the negotiation between Manchester United and Veronique Rabiot is still ongoing,” Romano told CaughtOffside.

“Erik ten Hag had a direct call with Adrien Rabiot on Monday and it was positive, now the two parties are negotiating on the financial and project plan.”

De Jong update

United are still said to be pushing for a deal to sign Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong.

“I understand here at the Dutch end, that Frenkie de Jong is still an absolute number one priority for Erik ten Hag and the club,” Marcel Van der Kraan said live on Sky Sports News.

“And they’re certainly not giving up no matter what Frenkie says in Barcelona. They have a deal with the agent of the player.

“It just depends on what is happening in the political department of Barcelona over his wages which they still owe him.”

Gakpo blow

Reported United target Cody Gakpo will not be sold before August 24.

That’s according to the Daily Record, who say PSV have made it clear they will not offload the midfielder until after their Champions League qualifier later this month.

That could make it difficult for clubs to sign Gakpo, given there will only be a week remaining in the transfer window at that point.
