Manchester United have completed the signing of OL Reign goalkeeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce on a permanent deal.

While the fee has been reported as undisclosed, several outlets earlier in the week state the signing of the 26-year-old goalkeeper is expected to break the world transfer record for a goalkeeper with the New Yorker's move believed to be over the £100,000 mark.

"Today has been pure excitement for me. Manchester United is such an historic club, that has already done so much in the women’s game. I’m so honoured to get this opportunity" said the stopper on move to the Women's Super League giants.

Head coach Mark Skinner was also delighted to complete his eight signing of the summer, commenting "Phallon joins us at an exciting time for Manchester United Women, as we embark on our first European season. We are delighted to welcome Phallon to our family. Phallon has a wonderful array of talents, and we look forward to seeing her growth at Manchester United.”

Tullis-Joyce will compete with regular number one Mary Earps for the number one spot at United, with third choice Sophia Baggaley linked with a deadline day move to Brighton and Hove Albion.

Earps is believed to currently be unhappy at the club and was the subject of a significant bid from fellow Women's Super League outfit Arsenal earlier in the window.

With just one year left on her contract, there was concern the Lionesses stopper could depart the club but United have remained firm that she is not for sale and have now strengthened their goalkeeping options with the signing of Tullis-Joyce.

The Red Devils have already confirmed the signing of Irene Guerrero earlier this morning, while Ivana Fuso joined Championship side Birmingham City on a permanent deal. Martha Thomas has followed her out of the door with a transfer to Tottenham Hotspur earlier this afternoon.
