Manchester United are back in action tonight when they take on Sheriff away from home in the Europa League.

The Red Devils have seen their Premier League season put on hold due to the death of the Queen, with last week’s outing and this weekend’s fixture both postponed.

Instead, United will be concentrating on European football in the last game before the international break.

And Erik ten Hag’s men already have some catching up to do following their defeat to Real Sociedad last week.

As the build-up to the clash continues, we have rounded up all the latest transfer news and rumours.

Gakpo revelation

United were said to have agreed personal terms with the reprasentatives of PSV star Cody Gakpo during the summer transfer window.

Gakpo was heavily linked with the likes of Leeds United and Southampton, but it seems the Red Devils were the closest to agreeing a move.

It’s claimed the Dutch winger actually wanted to make the move to Old Trafford, but it was United who pulled out.

According to the The Athletic, there were a number of factors behind the decision, including the signing of Antony and also Anthony Elanga’s form early in the season.

Garner details

Details have emerged over the sale of James Garner to Everton. The 21-year-old is highly rated, but he only ever made two senior Premier League appearances for United.

And the decision was made to offload him to Everton this summer, a decision that frustrated some fans.

According to The Athletic, United received just £9million upfront for Garner, agreeing a relatively cheap deal to offload the midfielder.

The promising aspect is that United could receive a total of £15.5million should add-ons be activated.

But in terms of up front cash, this wasn’t an overly profitable deal for the Red Devils.
