We have all the need-to know information ahead of the Europa League game between Manchester United and Sheriff Tiraspol.

Manchester United will travel to the Zimbru Stadium on Thursday in Champions League group stage action to take on Sheriff Tiraspol.

The Red Devils fell to a 1-0 defeat to Real Sociedad in their opening game in the competition after a controversial penalty was awarded to the La Liga club.

United didn’t play their scheduled Premier League clash against Crystal Palace on Sunday after it was postponed due to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s death on Thursday 8 September.

As for Sheriff, they are undefeated in the Moldavian first tier, winning five of their opening seven games and drawing two.

The Wasps won their opening Europa League group stage match last week, beating Omonia 3-0 away from home.

In the UK, the game will be shown live on BT Sport 2 with coverage beginning at 5:15pm. A BT Sport subscription is required to watch the match.

Team news

United made six changes to their starting XI against Sociedad with Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, Casemiro, Fred, Anthony Elanga and Cristiano Ronaldo replacing Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, Scott McTominay, Bruno Fernandes, Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford.

After the postponement of last weekend’s game and now the Leeds United match on Sunday, Erik ten Hag could be forced to rotate his team again in order to maintain match fitness.

Phil Jones and Brandon Williams aren’t part of United’s Europa League A squad, while Axel Tuanzebe, who is yet to feature this season, makes the list.

Injured trio Anthony Martial, Luke Shaw and Facundo Pellistri remain a doubt, while Donny van de Beek could return and Martin Dubravka is in line to make his debut.

As for Sheriff, only four players who featured in their win over Omonia remained in their starting XI against Milsami Orhei on Sunday. It’s likely that they will rotate their squad once again on Thursday.
