Man Utd boss reveals which player he sees as “the best” after Brighton win

Manchester United boss Marc Skinner revealed which player he believes is “the best” after his side’s 4-0 win at Brighton on Saturday afternoon.

United moved three points clear at the top of the Women’s Super League (WSL) after a dominant victory over struggling Brighton thanks to goals from Rachel Williams, Lucia Garcia and a Leah Galton brace.

The win keeps the Red Devil’s on course for major silverware and Skinner singled out the performance of goalscorer Galton after she put in another matchwinning performance for his side.

"Everybody knows how I feel about Leah. She is the best” Skinner told Sky Sports.

“What she can do with a ball...the first one she has timed perfectly for the header and the second one she’s just rounded the keeper with minimal space and found the angle. She is a wonderful player and you can see that. That is what she brings, she is just top quality.”

The 28-year-old forward was handed the player of the match and was instrumental for United as they made light work of the Seagulls in the WSL’s early kick-off.

“I love scoring in every game but I seem to keep getting those goals against Brighton - I don't know what it is. That's the main thing for me, if I'm playing and I'm smiling you know I'm enjoying it and I'm probably going to play the best I can play - so I just need to keep smiling” said Galton, speaking to Sky Sports.

The Harrogate born forward pointed to her partnership with Hannah Blundell on the left hand as a key reason for her outstanding form this season

“It's huge because, now we've been playing together a while, I don’t even think we look at each other to communicate - we just know. She knows if I'm running short or if I'm going high, we don't even have to say anything and it’s probably really hard to defend against.

"The combination (for the second goal), because we do it so much in training we just know it's going to happen.

"It's nice to look at and see us top of table. But you never know what is going to happen, anyone can beat anyone. I know it's boring to say but its taking it game by game.

"You can't not think about it (winning trophies) and you obviously can't not think about the Champions League as well because we've never done that and personally that is something I really want to do. It gives me more oomph to go out there and just perform for the team and make sure we get the wins" added Galton.
