Defender wanted

According to the Daily Mail, Real Betis are showing ‘interest’ in signing defender Eric Bailly from United now the window is open. The report also adds that Erik ten Hag’s side want a fee in the region of £2m for the centre-back’s signature following his loan spell at Marseille in Ligue 1 last term.

Bailly, who is a Ivory Coast international with 49 caps to his name so far in his career, has been on the books at Old Trafford since joining from Villarreal back in 2016. He has since made 113 appearances for the North West outfit but has slipped down the pecking order and may well head out the exit door on a permanent basis in the near future is his price tag is matched.

Attacker tipped for exit

Attacker Anthony Martial’s future at United is uncertain at the moment. The 27-year-old joined from Monaco in 2015 and has scored 88 goals in 298 matches since his switch to England.

Reporter Jonathan Johnson has admitted it would be a ‘surprise’ to see him stay and has tipped the forward for a return to France. He has said, as per CaughtOffside: “I could see Anthony Martial returning to France this summer and one potential landing spot could be Lyon. Martial came through the youth academy there before moving to Monaco and breaking through at senior level there, and Lyon tend to like trying to repatriate some of their homegrown players.

“It would certainly surprise me if Martial stayed at Old Trafford, so I think this could be a good move for Lyon to consider. France seems like a logical place for him to try to revive his career, but whether that’s on loan or a permanent transfer remains to be seen.”
