Man United 'initiate moves' to sign £62m goal-scoring ace who is being eyed by Liverpool and Arsenal

Man United are likely to sign a striker in the summer transfer window, due to their struggles in front of goal this season.
This was amplified during their last game against rivals Man City, which ended in a 0-0 draw. Ruben Amorim’s side had the better chances of the game but weren’t able to capitalise during what was a very disappointing Manchester derby.

Man United set to battle Arsenal for Cunha
One striker who has generated headlines in the Premier League this season is Wolves attacker Matheus Cunha, who has scored 15 goals in 29 games this season, showing himself to be one of the best in the Premier League.
He was heavily linked to joining Arsenal during the January transfer window as the Gunners are in need of a striker. However, Cunha instead opted to sign a new contract at Molineux because he wanted to get them out of a relegation battle.
However, he said in an interview with the Guardian last month: “I need to take the next step. I want to fight for titles, for big things. I have potential.”

Spanish outlet Fichajes says that United have “initiated moves” to sign the 25-year-old with the aim of strengthening their attack for next season. It comes amid reports from Football Insider’s Mick Brown that United were showing an interest but could find it hard to complete a deal due to interest from the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal. The report from Fichajes suggests the Red Devils are trying to seal a march on their rivals knowing they could find it hard to convince him to move to Old Trafford.
Cunha has a £62million release clause in the contract that he signed in January, which is due to keep him at the club until 2029, but after revealing that he is ready for an exit, a summer transfer looks more than likely for Cunha.
He has been at Wolves for two years after joining from Atletico Madrid. He has since scored 31 goals and provided 13 assists in 85 games for the Midlands-based club. This season he has an impressive 13 goals and four assists in 26 games for a struggling Wolves side.
Cunha joins list of United striker targets
Cunha is the latest in a long line of strikers who have been linked with a move to Old Trafford in the summer transfer window as they aim to add at the position this year.

Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap also emerged as a target for the Red Devils in recent weeks and with an estimated cost of £40 million, Delap could be a cheaper alternative to the likes of Cunha and Gyokeres who will command fees of over £60m.
In other news, Man Utd are eyeing a move for 16-goal Premier League gem who could finally replace Jason Sancho - he has been described as a perfect fit for the Red Devils.
