Manchester United are being linked with a summer move for Napoli defender Kim Min-jae. The Red Devils will be looking to bolster their squad in the next transfer window as they look ahead to their second season under Erik ten Hag’s guidance.

They are currently 4th in the Premier League table behind Manchester City, Arsenal and Newcastle United and are aiming to get into the Champions League. They have three more league games to get through against Bournemouth, Chelsea and Fulham and their fate remains in their own hands.

Target eyed

According to a report by The Mirror, United have ‘identified’ Min-jae as a potential addition. The South Korea international, who has 49 caps under his belt so far, only joined Napoli last year from Fenerbahce for €18.05 million and has helped his current club win the Serie A title this year.

He has adapted with ease to life in Italy and has made 43 appearances in all competitions, chipping in with two goals. His contract expires in 2025.

Napoli plotting replacement

Napoli are planning for life without their key centre-back which is a boost to his suitors like United. Italian news outlet Calciomercato claim they want Atalanta defender Giorgio Scalvini if Min-jae heads out the exit door.

PSG competition

United aren’t the only club in the frame for the former Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors and Beijing Guoan’s man’s signature. RMC Sport report that PSG are also keen to snap him up and they could provide some strong competition in this pursuit.

The Ligue 1 giants are top of their league again and could try and persuade Min-jae to move to Paris instead of Manchester. The prospect of playing with the likes of Neymar, Kylian Mbappé and Lionel Messi always makes them an attractive team to sign for.
