The January transfer window is edging closer and former Manchester United midfielder Ji-Sung Park has suggested a potential new signing for the Red Devils who could do “very well” at Old Trafford.

Park, who won nine major honours in seven seasons at United, including four Premier League titles and a Champions League victory, believes fellow South Korean Heung-min Son would be a good fit for his former club.

Speaking to GOAL, the 40-year-old said Son’s impressive record in recent Premier League seasons is one reason why he would thrive at United.

"He [Son] has already proved himself in the Premier League and I believe he’s good enough to do very well at United,” claimed Park.

"The only minor issue would be he may not get his favourite No.7 shirt as [Cristiano] Ronaldo is already there,” he added.

Son has made 18 appearances in all competitions for Tottenham Hotspur this season, scoring seven times and assisting his team-mates on three occasions.

However, the likelihood of this transfer happening is slim to none with Son a fan favourite at Tottenham and the club not likely to be keen on selling one of their star players.

But Park also mentioned two other South Korean internationals who could potentially do well for the Red Devils.

"If I had to pick someone other than Son, I would say either Hwang Hee-chan from Wolves or Mallorca's Lee Kang-in, who both have good potential as players,” he said.

The former has featured in 12 of Wolves’ 15 Premier League game so far this season, netting four goals.
