The Manchester United winger has been frozen out of the senior squad by Erik ten Hag, following his social media post at the start of September.

Jadon Sancho’s Manchester United career ‘might already be over’, according to recent reports, with the winger still training away from the senior squad.

The 23-year-old has not featured for the team since 26 August and effectively called manager Erik ten Hag a liar at the start of September, when the Dutchman said Sancho’s performances in training had been poor, resulting in him being dropped for a match away to Arsenal. The player claimed on social media that he had been made ‘a scapegoat’ by Ten Hag and denied that his output in training had been inadequate.

Sancho was subsequently banished to train with the Under21 squad and his refusal to apologise has meant Ten Hag has not integrated the attacker back into the first-team picture. Now reports in ESPN claim that Sancho is ‘running out of time’ to fix his United career, with the feeling at the club that an apology now would not carry the same weight as it would have done in the immediate aftermath of that infamous social media post.

The outlet add there remains a possibility that Sancho can be reintegrated into the squad, and players such as Harry Maguire,  Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford have encouraged him to apologise.

“There are concerns that the situation is having an affect on the dressing and a resolution either way needs to be found sooner rather than later,” ESPN report.

Meanwhile, as per the Daily Mail, United will look to move Sancho on in January if he has not said sorry to Ten Hag by then. It’s also claimed that the ex-Borussia Dortmund star’s attitude in training had been impacting others, with the atmosphere improving since Sancho’s exile.

United would be willing to subside Sancho’s wages to facilitate a January loan move, add the Mail, although there are concerns that his price could drop markedly from the club’s £60m valuation if he continues to remain on the sidelines until the winter window opens.

Meanwhile, the Sun state Juventus are interested in signing Sancho on a temporary deal in January, which could be made permanent next summer. Dortmund are also said to be interested, but Sancho would prefer a move to Serie A, claim the outlet.

Since his £73m move to Old Trafford in 2021, Sancho has made 82 appearances and has registered just 12 goals.
