'I’m still disgusted by this failure' - Manchester United transfer target hopes to justify €90m claim

Man Utd will consider a loan move for Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani in the January transfer window.

Randal Kolo Muani is a player with a point to prove. He was one of the hottest striker in Europe when Paris Saint-Germain secured a dramatic deadline day deal to sign him for €90 million from Eintracht Frankfurt back in 2023.

Less than 18 months later, he is free to leave the French giants in the January transfer window, after a hugely underwhelming time in the French capital. He admitted his return of eight goals in his debut season was 'disappointing' and that he was looking to 'quickly forget' his tough start to life with PSG.

It hasn't gone according to plan. He has just two goals from 14 appearances for the French giants this season and has been told he is free to leave this month if an appropriate offer comes. Manchester United, Tottenham and Juventus are all interested in a potential loan move, with Ruben Amorim keen to add another experienced forward to his attacking line.

Kolo Muani would not only ease the burden on Rasmus Hojlund in the United attack, but he can also play a wing role if required, and his potential arrival could facilitate Joshua Zirkzee's own exit this month. The 26-year-old would also arrive with the huge motivation to not only justify his €90m price-tag, but to also rewrite his reputation as the man who missed a glorious chance to win the 2022 World Cup for France.

“I will always be the guy who missed the one-on-one in the World Cup final," he told Onze Mondial last September. "It’s for life. Even when my career is over, people will always talk to me about it. Obviously I’m still disgusted by this failure. After this one-on-one, the match is over. If I had scored, we would have won the World Cup. It’s crazy. I don’t even have the words to explain it. It’s just incredible. I would have brought the World Cup back to France."

"I've seen the criticism since I arrived at PSG. And criticism makes you evolve, it's good to hear. It's like advice. You have to take the criticism into account and improve so that the same criticism disappears. It's logical. Regarding the transfer price, it's important. Personally, it's hard to digest. It's another pressure to take on for me. I'm digesting it little by little. But I'll tell you a secret: with time, people will say that it was a good price for Randal Kolo Muani. I know that right now people are saying: "90 million for Kolo Muani, what's that?" I say: "They'll see", quite simply."
