Ruben Amorim hailed the performance of defender Harry Maguire after Manchester United’s dramatic derby win over Man City on Sunday afternoon.
The 31-year-old was one of four changes to the United line up for their short trip to the Etihad on Sunday afternoon, and he enjoyed an excellent individual performance in the backline. Maguire was tasked with subduing the threat of Erling Haaland, a role he relished, as the Norwegian forward cut a frustrated figure on an afternoon where he rarely had a chance.

Hide AdIt was remains to be seen what the long-term future holds for Maguire, who has entered the final year of his contract at the club, though United have the option to extend his deal by an additional year.
Maguire proved once again he still has what it takes to be part of United's line up when required, and after the game Amorim praised him for his remarkable display.
"Maguire is perfect when you play with three defenders, I think in the middle he is perfect," the head coach told reporters. "The striker they have, with long-balls, you need to be really strong. It was perfect for him. But not just Harry. All the guys defended really well, they were really focused and that is the key to play better. I think he did a great job and his teammates also did a great job.”
