Manchester United player ratings as 8/10 unsung heroes shine in Man City comeback win - gallery

Man Utd player ratings as they came from behind to defeat Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Manuel Ugarte and Harry Maguire impressed as Manchester United came from behind to defeat Man City in dramatic circumstance.

Ruben Amorim made four changes to his line up for the match, with Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho both dropped entirely for the clash.

City started as the better of the two sides and dominated the possession, though there were no clear opportunities for either side before Mason Mount was withdrawn early on through injury. Phil Foden volleyed a fierce effort just wide of the United goal and Ruben Dias headed over from a corner as Pep Guardiola's side struggled to make their dominance count. At the other end, Amad Diallo wasted a glorious opportunity to put his side ahead, only to be flagged offside anyway.

It would be another set-piece that undid United though as Josko Gvardiol headed his side in front from a corner to give them a deserved lead at half-time. They could even have doubled their lead before the break when Onana got down well to tip Phil Foden's effort wide for a corner.

City continued to dominate proceedings after the restart, but opportunities were scarce in what was overall an underwhelming derby encounter between two inconsistent teams. United went close to an equaliser when Amad forced a fingertip save from Ederson with a glancing header, while Rasmus Hojlund was furious at the decision not to award a penalty when he went down under pressure from Ruben Dias in the box.

Bruno Fernandes wasted an incredible opportunity to level the scores when he lifted the ball wide of goal when one-on-one with Ederson, but would no mistake from the penalty spot when United were gifted a way back into the game after some disastrous defending from Matheus Nunes. The City midfielder gave the ball away carelessly to Amad and then scythed him down in the box as he tried to win the ball back to gift United the penalty they felt aggrieved to have missed out on earlier.

Out of nowhere, United soon had another just 54 seconds after the restart when the otherwise underwhelming Amad raced onto a long ball and rounded Ederson to finish from the tightest of angles and secure a sweet derby victory.
