Harry Kane’s future remains up in the air amid talk the striker could leave Tottenham this summer.

The England star pushed for an exit in the summer of 2021 as he looked to realise his dreams of winning trophies, but he wound up performing a U-turn after upsetting supporters and failing to secure a move away. Since then, Kane has been his professional self, but his time to win trophies is running out, and Tottenham don’t look any closer to achieving success.

Kane is said to be eyeing an exit as a result, but Spurs are not likely to make it easy, especially given the interest from Premier League rivals Manchester United. Here we round up the latest.

United blow

The big news is that United are said to be unlikely to bid for Kane due to Tottenham’s stance over the striker.

According to Sky Sports, Spurs are reluctant to sell to a Premier League rival, and they are likely to command a huge fee from United as a result. That is likely to see the Red Devils pursue other deals, given they can likely get better value for money elsewhere, and with younger strikers potentially available.

United are not going to overpay for Kane given he is now 29 years of age and going into the last year of his contract.

Real Madrid interest

Real Madrid are the other likely bidder for Kane after Karim Benzema’s departure to Saudi Arabia this summer.

Los Blancos see Kane as the ‘perfect’ replacement for Benzema, according to reports in Spain, and the latest reports have spotted the claims that United will not make a move. That has led to claims that Real Madrid now have a ‘clear run’ at Kane this summer, with Tottenham more likely to sell to a club abroad in the case Kane will not sign a new deal.

The only question is whether Kane is willing to move abroad given how close he is to breaking the all-time Premier League goalscoring record.

United’s aletnatives

United are said to be looking at other targets in the wake of Tottenham’s firm stance.

According to the Sky Sports report above, United are eyeing Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Atalanta's Rasmus Hojlund. Osimhen is also likely to cost close to or more than £100million, while 20-year-old Hojlund could come a little cheaper.

Hojlund has only made 32 senior appearances for Atalanta so far, scoring nine times, while Osimhen is much more proven at this point, helping Naploli win the Serie A title this season.
