The Red Devils make the journey to eastern Europe this week with the game taking place in the country’s capital, Chisinau.

United will be hoping for a good result after a disappointing opening group game, which saw Erik ten Hag’s side lose 1-0 to Real Sociedad.

Another defeat really would impact United’s chances of making it to the knockout stages, with Sheriff registering an impressive 3-0 win last week over Omonia Nicosia.

The Moldovian side also beat Real Madrid in the Champions League last season, proving they will be no pushovers on Thursday.

United have confirmed the Europa League game will take place, although there have been no similar assertions regarding this weekend’s Premier League games as the period of national mourning continues following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
