Erik ten Hag has given an extensive injury update ahead of Manchester United’s trip to West Ham United in the Premier League.

The Red Devils travel to the London Stadium on Saturday in their final match before Christmas, and a win could see Ten Hag’s side move up to sixth in the table.

But United’s hopes of gaining three points have been impacted by illness, which has spread throughout the squad this week.

"Now we have some doubts, some illnesses during the week," Ten Hag revealed on Friday, ahead of the game. "We have to see who is available for tomorrow, hopefully they are recovered, we have to see."

United approach the game with 11 players either ruled out or doubts, and Ten Hag was asked for an update on several first-team members, including Lisandro Martinez and Casemiro. “They are not available before Christmas, mid-January we expect them back,” said the Dutchman.

"Mason Mount similar into January. Harry Maguire I expect him early on," he added.

The United boss also revealed that Victor Lindelof has undergone surgery recently and therefore will miss the Christmas period. "Victor Lindelof is not available, he has done surgery, he will be out for a couple of weeks. He had a problem, personal, he has to do the surgery."

The defensive injuries means Raphael Varane and Jonny Evans are expected to start at centre-back at West Ham, while Christian Eriksen could return from injury having missed the last seven games with a knock. Diogo Dalot is also suspended following his red card against Liverpool last week.
