Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag could welcome back Christian Eriksen for Saturday’s Premier League clash against West Ham United.

The Red Devils kick off Saturday's helping of festive football with a 12:30pm start at the London Stadium, and are nursing nine injuries heading into the encounter. Eriksen is among those who were absent for last weekend’s trip to Anfield and the Danish midfielder has missed the last seven in all competitions.

But he was back in competitive training this week and should be an option against the Hammers. Amad might also be back and returned to training recently, while Anthony Martial is likely to be available again after missing the last two matches through illness.

But Ten Hag confirmed in Friday's pre-match press that Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Mason Mount won't be involved in the capital on Saturday due to injury, while adding he expects Lisandro Martinez and Casemiro to return in mid-January.

Tyrell Malacia is also missing due to a long-term injury, while fellow full-back Diogo Dalot is out through suspension following his red card against Liverpool last week. Jadon Sancho is the final absentee for the Red Devils and hasn’t played since his public falling out with Ten Hag in September.

As for West Ham, their only confirmed absence is Michail Antonio. The 33-year-old has missed the last five Premier League matches due to a knee injury and won’t be available this weekend.

Meanwhile, Nayef Aguerd, Aaron Cresswell, Maxwel Cornet missed the Carabao Cup defeat to Liverpool on Wednesday due to a virus and are therefore doubts for Saturday's league game.

"Cresswell was sick before we went up, but he improved a little bit and we took him up with us," said David Moyes ahead of the game.

"Nayef Aguerd, I’ve seen today. He’s looking a bit better but I don’t know if he’s completely better. Even after the game last night we had a few players again feeling unwell, so they’ll need to be monitored over the next couple of days.

"Michail Antonio is improving," he added. "He’s on the grass, he’s doing some running. He’s improving and getting closer.

Doubts: Aguerd, Cresswell, Cornet (West Ham); Eriksen, Amad, Martial (United). Out: Antonio (West Ham); Lindelof, Maguire, Martinez, Dalot, Malacia, Casemiro, Mount, Sancho (United).
