Manchester United are on cloud nine after securing safe passage through to the Carabao Cup final.

The Red Devils won 5-0 on aggregate, setting up an intriguing final with Newcastle United at the end of this month. In the meantime, Erik ten Hag’s men are preparing for a Premier League clash with Crystal Palace this weekend, hoping to solidify their top four spot and continue their improved form over recent weeks.

As preparations ramp up, we have rounded up all the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding Old Trafford, including a look ahead to the summer window and the fallout from all of the January business.

Wan-Bissaka contingency

United were said to have found a replacement for Aaron Wan-Bissaka in January ahead of the full-back’s return to form.

Wan-Bissaka managed to win over his critics across December and January, in particular, putting in a number of impressive displays at right-back. And according to Fabrizio Romano, it’s a good job, with United already finding a replacement in case there was no resurgance from the Englishman.

Romano has claimed that Celtic’s Josip Juranovic was the chosen target, but United eventually decided to stick with Wan-Bissaka, and juranovic joined Union Berlin on a deal worth around £10million.

Lindelof exit blocked

Elsewhere, Ten Hag is said to have blocked a late exit for Victor Lindelof.

According to Bild, Eintracht Frankfurt made a last minute move to land the out of favour centre-back, plotting a late loan move, but the deal did not come to fruition. That’s because Ten Hag is said to have decided he didn’t have enough depth at centre-back to allow Lindelof to leave.

That led the Dutch boss to block Lindelof’s exit, though it’s true the centre-back may be headed for an exit in the summer, given he has made just four Premier League appearances so far this season.
