It’s certainly not been a smooth ride for Manchester United so far this season, but after the last run of games, it seems Ruben Amorim may have turned things around slightly. They won 2-0 against Sunderland in their last game, and two games prior to that, managed to beat Chelsea, who just won against Liverpool.
The Red Devils will come back from the international break with a game against Liverpool at Anfield, hoping they can upset the champions, who have lost their last three games in all competitions under Arne Slot.
Amorim will have some tough selection decisions to make ahead of the game, with Senne Lammens really shining against Sunderland in goal, making him Man United’s highest-rated player so far this season. He is ahead of the likes of Matthijs De Ligt and Bruno Fernandes, who have also impressed.
But what is Man United’s highest-rated XI so far this season? ManchesterWorld decided to compile a 3-4-3 starting XI for Amorim using the average match ratings on Whoscored.com, and this is what it looks like...

1. GK - Senne Lammens (7.36/10)
Lammens was excellent on his debut for United, leading fans at Old Trafford to chant 'are you Schmeichel in disguise'. He may have solves United's goalkeeper issue. | Getty Images

2. LCB - Noussair Mazraoui (6.77/10)
Mazraoui has struggled a bit with injuries this year, but when he has been fit, he has been one of the better defensive performers. He should be available again after the international break. | AFP via Getty Images

3. CB - Matthijs De Ligt (6.95/10)
De Ligt was left out of Ronald Koeman's Netherlands squad, which came as a surprise as the Man United star has been one of Amorim's best defensive players this season. | Manchester United via Getty Imag

4. RCB - Leny Yoro (6.47/10)
Yoro has been far from spectacular this year, but he's been solid at best. He just pipped Luke Shaw in terms of average match rating for United in defence. | Manchester United via Getty Imag
