It’s certainly not been a smooth ride for Manchester United so far this season, but after the last run of games, it seems Ruben Amorim may have turned things around slightly. They won 2-0 against Sunderland in their last game, and two games prior to that, managed to beat Chelsea, who just won against Liverpool.
The Red Devils will come back from the international break with a game against Liverpool at Anfield, hoping they can upset the champions, who have lost their last three games in all competitions under Arne Slot.
Amorim will have some tough selection decisions to make ahead of the game, with Senne Lammens really shining against Sunderland in goal, making him Man United’s highest-rated player so far this season. He is ahead of the likes of Matthijs De Ligt and Bruno Fernandes, who have also impressed.
But what is Man United’s highest-rated XI so far this season? ManchesterWorld decided to compile a 3-4-3 starting XI for Amorim using the average match ratings on Whoscored.com, and this is what it looks like...

9. CAM - Bryan Mbeumo (6.67/10)
Mbeumo claims one of the attacking midfield spots after having a decent start to life at Old Trafford. He hopes to reclaim some of the form that he showcased at Brentford last season. | Manchester United via Getty Imag

10. CAM - Mason Mount (6.64/10)
Mount was superb in the last game against Sunderland, and so perhaps that is the reason why his average rating is better than summer signing Matheus Cunha, who has been left out of this starting XI. | Getty Images

11. ST - Benjamin Sesko (6.66/10)
In terms of the striker spot, it was between Sesko, Cunha and Joshua Zirkzee, who hasn't been playing much this season, so it was a quick and easy win for the Slovenian international. | Getty Images
