It’s certainly not been a smooth ride for Manchester United so far this season, but after the last run of games, it seems Ruben Amorim may have turned things around slightly. They won 2-0 against Sunderland in their last game, and two games prior to that, managed to beat Chelsea, who just won against Liverpool.
The Red Devils will come back from the international break with a game against Liverpool at Anfield, hoping they can upset the champions, who have lost their last three games in all competitions under Arne Slot.
Amorim will have some tough selection decisions to make ahead of the game, with Senne Lammens really shining against Sunderland in goal, making him Man United’s highest-rated player so far this season. He is ahead of the likes of Matthijs De Ligt and Bruno Fernandes, who have also impressed.
But what is Man United’s highest-rated XI so far this season? ManchesterWorld decided to compile a 3-4-3 starting XI for Amorim using the average match ratings on Whoscored.com, and this is what it looks like...

5. LWB - Patrick Dorgu (6.85/10)
Dorgu has been impressive in attacking areas for Man United, but he's struggled defensively. Either way, he is the highest-rated left-wing back in Amorim's squad. | Manchester United via Getty Images

6. CM - Bruno Fernandes (6.88/10)
Even though Bruno has been playing out of position this season under Amorim, he has still been the team's third-highest-rated player. | Manchester United via Getty Images

7. CM - Casemiro (6.43/10)
Best out of a bad bunch is about the best we can say here, Casemiro was narrowly higher-rated than Manuel Ugarte, so the Brazilian gets the start. | Manchester United via Getty Images

8. RWB - Amad Diallo (6.81/10)
It was Amad vs Dalot for the right-wing back spot, and the Ivorian winger had a better rating, despite him being more of an attacker rather than a defensive player. | Manchester United via Getty Images
