Jadon Sancho returns to full Manchester United training

Jadon Sancho has returned to Manchester United training after he was granted a slightly extended break due to his participation in the Champions League final. Club sources confirmed Sancho held a positive meeting with manager Erik ten Hag earlier this week and both parties have agreed to draw a line under their disagreement and move on.

It has not been confirmed whether or not Sancho has apologised for the social media post that resulted in him being frozen out of the first-team but he has now resumed pre-season training with the rest of the squad.

Sancho will not travel to Norway for the first pre-season friendly against Rosenberg on Monday due to the fact he has only just returned to training, but he will be available for selection after that. United sources also reiterated that the focus is now on Sancho playing a full part in pre-season although they were not drawn on whether or not it impacts his long-term future at the club.

United had initially been looking to move the 24-year-old in the summer transfer window but were struggling to find a buyer willing to match his £40 million valuation and pay his high wages. Manchester World exclusively revealed last month Sancho would be due to report back for pre-season training if he did not find a new club before it begins.

Sancho was banished from the first-team environment at United last season after he refused to apologise to Ten Hag for refuting the the suggestion his training performances had been poor. He had been dropped from United's defeat to Arsenal last September because of a perceived lack of effort in team training, something he took to social media to publicly deny. The English forward was subsequently frozen out by Ten Hag before he was sent on loan to former side Borussia Dortmund in the January window.
