Jadon Sancho has been frozen out of the Man Utd set up due to a standoff with Erik Ten Hag

Jadon Sancho’s future at Old Trafford appears to be in great jeopardy ahead of the January transfer window as he remains in a public stand-off with manager Erik Ten Hag.

Sancho has recently been exiled from the Man Utd first team after a public spat with his manager. Prior to the international break, Ten Hag criticised Sancho for his poor performances in training and cited it as the reason for his omission from the matchday squad against Arsenal.

This led to Sancho making his feeling known on social media and in a now deleted post he hit back at Ten Hag and claimed his comments were untrue. The 23-year-old also described himself as “scapegoat” and claimed he had always given his best in training.

Such reports have led to great speculation over Sancho’s future and he has been frozen out of the team for all of his side’s last three Premier League matches.

Sancho’s reputation has taken a hit in recent years due to his injury record and poor form. But he was once regarded as one of the finest young players in world football and his former club Borussia Dortmund sold the winger for a blockbuster fee of £73m.

Dortmund currently have a huge transfer budget at their disposal after the £115m sale of Jude Bellingham, which led to speculation over a potential reunion for Sancho, as he looks to revive his chances of playing in Euro 2024.

However, the German outfit have apparently distanced themselves from links with Sancho, according to reports from Bild.

The German outlet claims that there are two key reasons which are deterring Dortmund from signing their former star.

One of those is that the club are not wanting to sign the player on a permanent transfer, as the proposed fee of £60m is not realistic for them at this time.

The German club are also believed to be concerned about the players behaviour off the field and reports from GiveMeSport claim that the player has been late for training on several occasions at Old Trafford as he spends too long playing video games at night.

The saga surrounding Sancho has caused great frustration for former captain Roy Keane who has publicly urged the player to apologise and fight for his place in the team before it’s too late.

Keane expressed his views on the new Stick to Football podcast and said: “Show another side to yourself. If you have got question marks over this player, he is not training properly, but he does turn around and show some sort of humility and goes ‘yeah I think I got it wrong.’ I do think you can move on very quickly.

“We have been in dressing rooms where players have made mistakes and they do say sorry and it is forgotten about (like that). Football dressing rooms are a strange dynamic, if players show that they care and are human, you go. ‘That’s fine’ and move on very, very quickly.”

Manchester Evening News reports that Sancho is strongly considering leaving the Red Devils in January and in the next two matches against Crystal Palace both in the Carabao Cup and the Premier League.
