Jadon Sancho remains frozen out by Erik ten Hag and Manchester United stars are said to be pleading with the winger.

Jadon Sancho’s Manchester United teammates have reportedly been getting involved in the situation that has seen the winger banished from first-team facilities.

Sancho fell out with United boss Erik ten Hag on the back of the club’s defeat to Arsenal recently, with the Dutch boss making it public that the winger hadn’t been meeting his expectations in training. Sancho hit back on social media, claiming he had been ‘made a scapegoat’ over recent times.

Ten Hag, who has amassed a reputation for dishing out punishments to misbehaving players, decided to exile Sancho from the first-team squad, although the pair did meet shortly after.

With both refusing to back down, Ten Hag decided to keep Sancho away from all first-team training, and indeed all of the club’s facilities, including the dining hall, according to The Mirror, until he apologises.

Sancho has refused to apologise up to now, but the same report is claiming that his England and United teammates Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire and Marcus Rashford have all urged the winger to say sorry. It’s claimed all three sympathise with his situation but have told Sancho there will only be one winner - the boss - and the most important thing is that he is playing football.

The report claims a source has said: “Jadon’s team-mates have been telling him to back down and say sorry to the boss. They want him to apologise. They sympathise with him and the way he feels, but recognise a line was crossed with what he posted.” Naturally, it’s always worth considering where an unnamed source has come from, given the club will be spinning their own PR in a bid to protect Ten Hag.

United already have a shortage of wingers with Antony sidelined due to legal issues, and with injuries adding up. Ten Hag could do with getting Sancho back, but he is sticking to his guns regardless of his squad issues so far.
