Manchester City progressed to the Champions League final on Wednesday night after beating Real Madrid  in the semi-final.

After drawing 1-1 in the Bernabeu last week, City put in a phenomenal display on Wednesday to beat the reigning European champions 4-0 in the second leg, thanks to a brace from Bernardo Silva, an Eder Militao own-goal and an injury-time fourth from Julian Alvarez.

The two-legged victory over Los Blancos ensured Pep Guardiola will have the chance to win Europe’s biggest prize for a third time and a first with City. The ex-Barcelona manager oversaw a 2021 defeat in the final to Chelsea, and will hope this is the year he can finally bring the trophy to the Etihad.

City’s win over Real sets up a showpiece occasion against Inter Milan in the final next month. The Italian side knocked out local rivals AC Milan in the semi-finals after they’d previously dumped Benfica and Porto out of the competition in the previous stages.

The final will pit ex-City man Edin Dzeko against his former employers. Matteo Darmian, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Romelu Lukaku, once of Manchester United are also in the Inter ranks.

Now we know who will play in the 2023 final, here’s all the key information ahead of the game…

Where is the Champions League final being staged?

The 2023 Champions League final will take place at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul.

Uefa have confirmed they will not move the venue despite reports in recent weeks claiming that the prospect of civil unrest in the wake of the Turkish elections could see the final switched to Lisbon. The Olympic Stadium has hosted one previous Champions League final, the memorable 2005 version when Liverpool came from three goals down to beat AC Milan.
