Manchester City have announced they will be hosting an event to present their new summer arrivals Erling Haaland, Julian Alvarez, Kalvin Phillips and Stefan Ortega Moreno to fans this weekend.

The Blues have been one of the most active clubs in this transfer window, improving their squad and adding some much needed depth ahead of another long season.

The club headed into the summer after claiming another Premier League title last campaign, their fourth in five seasons, but still chase that elusive Champions League.

The signing of the quartet mentioned above could help them win that maiden European honour, especially with the goalscoring prowess of Haaland.

The event is scheduled to start at 1pm and the players are set to arrive at 2pm. It will be held at the the Etihad Stadium’s West Reception.

What will happen at the event?

The City official website says: “Once on stage, all four will be quizzed by City Square Presenters Danny Jackson and Natalie Pike, whilst other special guests and pundits will be in attendance to provide insight and reaction to our transfer business.”

A similar event was staged last season when Jack Grealish completed his move from Aston Villa. The England international answered questions from the presenters, signed autographs and posed for pictures with fans.

When was Kalvin Phillips added?

As the event was announced prior to the signing of Phillips, it was initially unclear whether he would be in attendance.

The midfielder penned a six-year deal at City, in a deal worth around £42m, plus add-ons.

But fear not, as the new midfielder, who left his boyhood Leeds United, will be in attendance and will be on stage with Haaland et al.

Who are the new signings?

After spending the 2021/2022 season without a recognised striker, City spent big on Haaland, whose dad used to play for the Citizens.

He arrives after a stellar couple of years in the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund, and left with a record of almost a goal per game.

Another signing is the lesser-known Alvarez, who joins the club from Argentinian outfit River Plate. His transfer was announced in January but will only meet up with the squad this summer.

Ortega Moreno will play back-up to usual number one Ederson. It is thought this transfer could result in Zack Steffen heading out on loan.

Lastly, Phillips joins from Leeds, in a deal that is thought to be around £42m, which is around the fee received for the transfer of Gabriel Jesus to Arsenal.

Are City set to sign any new players?

The Premier League champions are believed to still be pursuing Marc Cucurella and an attacker, which may confirm the rumours that Raheem Sterling is to leave.

Serge Gnabry is the latest name to be linked with a move to the Etihad, even if City are denying there is interest in the German international.
