Chelsea moving closer to transfer

Sky Sports News report Chelsea are ‘in advanced talks’ with City regarding the signing of Raheem Sterling.

They add Thomas Tuchel is ‘determined’ to complete a deal for the winger, with one source claiming that a transfer is ‘close’.

Sky also believe a fee in the region of £50m would ensure a deal is completed, with Sterling likely to get a pay increase from his current contract at the Etihad.

Gnabry doubts

As per Jack Gaughan of the Daily Mail, City are denying rumours they’re interested in signing Serge Gnabry.

Various reports at the weekend claimed the Premier League champions were keen on recruiting the Bayern Munich winger, with Fabrizio Romano writing in his CaughtOffside column that City had sent scouts to ‘monitor him several times’.

However, the Italian journalist also claimed no offer had been submitted for the former Arsenal man.

Meanwhile, Gaughan responded: “Club saying no,” when asked on Twitter if Gnabry was being lined up to replace Sterling.

Other targets in mind

While City wrapped up the signing of Phillips on Monday, that certainly does not seem to be the end of their business.

A report in the i claim ‘interest has been retained in Brighton left-back Marc Cucurella and there are other attacking additions being worked on’.

They add Phillips has been given no guarantees of a starting spot at his new club, and there’s a realisation that Rodri will be difficult to shift from his role at the base of midfield
