The England international was unveiled on Monday as the club’s fourth arrival of the summer, following the signings of Julian Alvarez, Erling Haaland and Stefan Ortega.

While the 26-year-old is used to the high standards of Premier League football and playing on the international stage for England, City will be a major step up in quality.
Speaking in his first interview as a Blue, Phillips was asked which of his new team-mates he is most looking forward to playing with.
“You could say I am spoilt for choice to be fair! There are some amazing players,” he responded.

Another superstar
There’s another world-class player joining City’s ranks this summer, with the arrival of Norwegian forward Haaland, whose arrival was confirmed earlier this summer.
Few transfers have ever been so eagerly anticipated in the Premier League, and this marks City’s most high-profile addition of the Sheikh Mansour era.
Phillips was also asked about playing alongside Haaland, and predicts he’ll make an immediate impact in English football.

“I know that he is supposed to be a nice lad because Jude Bellingham told me a lot about him. I think he is going to come into the Premier League and hopefully he gets a few early goals and flies from there.”
