Everton could be set to beat Crystal Palace and Valencia to the loan signing of Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek.
It was reported on Saturday that the Dutchman had agreed terms on a move to the Eagles but it looks like the manager-less Toffees could come in and hijack the deal.

Whatever happens, it looks likely that the player will depart Old Trafford either before the window closes, with 90min confirming that the Red Devils have given the player the “green light” to leave.

Following the reports on Sunday, Everton have now emerged as the odds-on favourite to sign van de Beek on-loan before the end of the January transfer window.

What has been reported about Donny van de Beek signing for Everton?
The Athletic broke the story on Sunday, reporting that Everton have made the player their “top priority” to sign before the January transfer window shuts.
The Merseyside outfit have already signed Vitaliy Mykolenko and Nathan Patterson this window as well as Anwar El Ghazi on-loan from Aston Villa. However, a central midfielder could now be important with Fabian Delph and Abdoulaye Doucoure both injured.

Hide AdCrucially, the decision on which club van de Beek signs for is up to the Dutchman himself, according to 90min.
The site are reporting that United have given the 24-year-old the “green light” to leave on loan with the Red Devils also said to be expecting the player’s wages to be paid in full by the club who bring him in.

Van de Beek has played just 68 minutes in total for United in the Premier League this season.
In total, the Dutchman has made 14 appearances in all competitions with eight of those coming in the league, three in the Champions League and one each in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup.
All of his Premier League appearances this season have come as a substitute but the midfielder has been able to grab one goal, scoring in November’s 4-1 defeat to Watford.
