Peter Kay has thanked his fans for the rapturous welcome they gave his opening shows in Manchester on his new tour - and promised some big news will be announced tomorrow.

The Bolton born Car Share comedian took to Twitter on Wednesday (7 December) night to share his love for those who attended his sold out shows at the AO Arena over the last few days, which gained rave reviews on social media. The comic was reduced to tears at the ovation he got when he walked on stage at the first gig last Friday.

And he teased that some more news would be revealed tomorrow on BBC Radio 2’s drivetime show presented by Sara Cox.

Peter tweeted: “I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came to the first shows in Manchester. It was incredible to be a part of such a happy experience.

“Everybody deserves a bit of joy. Here’s to a lot more in the shows to come!! P.S. big announcement Thursday on Sara Cox Drivetime Show just after 6pm.”

Peter’s 2010 tour still is the best selling comedy tour of all time in the UK. Last weekend was his first on stage since then and saw a mad scramble for tickets when they were released.

He went on to announce another string of Manchester dates for 2023 after the first batch sold out fast.
