More than 28,000 runners hit the streets of Manchester for the 2023 adidas Manchester Marathon.
Athletes got off their marks in waves on Sunday (16 April), starting with the elite wheelchair racers at 8.55am, through to the final wave which set off at around 11am, with tens of thousands of supporters lining the route to cheer them on. After a few days of rather blustery conditions, the weather was kind to competitors on Sunday morning, with a cloudy and mild start to the day.
The fastest finisher on the day was Ignas Brasevicius in 02:16:27, with Bret Crossley winning the wheelchair marathon on 01:49:39.
