“I had pregnancy symptoms and I was feeling really unwell. There were no signs I’d had a miscarriage, so that made it more of a shock. We just assumed everything was going to be fine.

“Then after a week when they’d done the blood tests and other tests, I went back and they said I’d miscarried. It was a really strange feeling.”

The actress and Preston North End player have been dating since 2020 and met through Helen Flanagan’s ex-fiance footballer Scott Sinclair.

In 2015, Lucy got the role of Bethany Platt in the soap as the daughter of Sarah Platt played by Tina O’Brian. She won Best Actress at the Inside Soap Awards for playing the character Bethany.

After five years Lucy decided to leave Coronation Street and pursue other projects.
