The match will raise money for five different charities, some of which were set up by the families who lost loved ones.

The beneficiaries are The Chloe and Liam Together Forever Trust, Liv’s Trust, The Megan Hurley Foundation, The Remembering Nell Foundation and Eilidh’s Trust.

The Manchester Remembers charity football game will take place on Sunday 3 April at the Manchester City Academy Stadium with kick-off at 3pm.

The match is being organised by Manchester businessman Paul Corrigan and firefighter and former police officer Aaron Lee.

Aaron was one of the first responders on the scene at the Manchester Arena five years ago.

Since then, he has continued to have a close relationship with the victims’ families and has taken part in several activities to raise funds for the charities.

He said: “Coming up to the fifth anniversary I wanted to do something that little bit more special.

“It does make you proud when you see everyone come together like this.”

Former Manchester United player Wes Brown recalls the night of the attack as his daughter and her friend were there at the Ariana Grande gig.

He said: “It could have been anyone.

“It’s a tragedy what happened to everybody involved and when events like this come along, whether it’s a football match or other events, the city of Manchester will try and do their upmost to help out and do as much as they can.”

Adult tickets will be priced at £20 and concessionary tickets at £10.
