Runners pounded the streets of Manchester city centre for the return of the half-marathon - and our photographer was there to capture the action.

Thousands of runners got off the mark early on Sunday for the Great Manchester Run Half-Marathon.

From elite athletes through to club competitors and charity fundraisers in costume, the race attracted runners of all kinds.

Luke Cotter won the men’s race in 1:10:25, while Nicola Jackson was first over the line in the women’s event.
