Manchester city centre was taken over by thousands of runners taking part in the return of a much-loved annual event.

Great Manchester Run 10K attracted runners of all abilities, from elite athletes to charity fundraisers in colourful fancy dress.

The men’s 10K was won by Briton Marc Scott is 28:03 and Eilish McColgan scooped first in the women’s 10K, crossing the line at 30:52.
