Michelin star restaurants 2023: Manchester restaurant Mana retains Michelin star as city’s only winner

The Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland has today confirmed which UK restaurants have been awarded a new Michelin star for 2023.

The esteemed guide which celebrates the best in fine dining and cooking announced the winners in a ceremony in Silverstone Circuit in Northampton on Monday night (27 March), broadcast live on its Youtube channel. The guide, which has been going since 1900, can award up to three stars for excellence at top restaurants.

Mana in Blossom Street in Ancoats has long been Manchester’s only Michelin starred restaurant and that remains the case after the 2023 stars were announced on Monday. The high-end, reservation only eatery is known for its avant garde menu.

It comes after 20 new Bib Gourmands, which celebrate culinary excellence at more affordable prices, were awarded last week, including to The Sparrows in Manchester. There are also 17 Manchester restaurants which feature in the full Michelin Guide this year, including Another Hand.
