The Easter school holidays in Manchester are here, with pupils enjoying more than two weeks school-free.

When pupils return after Easter they will have one additional half-term break in May/June before schools break up for six weeks starting in July.

The weather is usually good around the Easter holidays, with spring in full flow and longer days due to the clocks going forward in the UK, there should be plenty of opportunities to embrace the outdoors with the family.

How long is the spring term?

The spring term started on January 4, 2022, and ends on April 1 2022, lasting 87 days.

The term was somewhat disrupted by Storm Eunice, which caused some schools to close.

When are the Easter bank holidays?

The next UK bank holiday will be on Good Friday April 15, 2022.

There will be two days either side of a weekend, giving many people in the UK a long weekend.

This year, Good Friday will be Friday, April 15, with the next bank holiday, Easter Monday being on Monday, April 18.

Easter Sunday is on Sunday, April 17 this year, and with the knowledge you have tomorrow off, you can indulge in an Easter egg.

It is the first bank holiday in the UK since January 3, 2022.

When do schools break-up for Easter in Manchester?

The final day of the spring term for pupils in Manchester was Friday, April 1 2022.

Pupils will enjoy 18 days off school, before heading back to begin the last term of the school year, and return on Tuesday, April 19.

Thirteen days after returning to school for the summer term, there is a bank holiday where pupils will be off on Monday, May 2.

What are the dates for the summer term?

After pupils return to school on April 19, they will have one more half term before ending the current school year.

The half term in May will cross over into June, and schools in Manchester will close on Friday, May 27 and pupils return on Monday, June 6.

When the pupils return on Monday, June 6 2022 the rest of the school year remains uninterrupted until schools break for the summer holidays on Wednesday, July 27.

The summer break is the longest one in the school calendar, and it signifies the end of one school year, and when pupils return to school in the September, they will return as pupils of the year above the year they left in July.

The summer holidays usually lasts around six weeks.

The Manchester government website states that the 2022/2023 school year will start on Thursday, September 1 2022.
