Storm Franklin hit Greater Manchester on Sunday into Monday with a yellow warning in place for strong winds and heavy rain until around lunchtime on Monday.
The already unsettled conditions have seen train operators Northern advise against all but essential travel today, with warning to disruption to services.

Many people are working from home where possible, with caution advised to those who are travelling on the roads network, especially in high sided vehicles vulnerable to windy conditions, with one lorry overturning on the M60 this morning between junctions 10 and 11.
What about schools?
However, there are no known reports of unexpected school closures this morning (Monday) in Manchester and Salford so far at time of writing.

Local authorities advise liaising directly with your child’s school for specific updates, and staying tuned to local radio for live news.
Schools can also upload details of closures to the local council’s webpages. You can find a link to those websites by looking up your postcode on the Government website here.
