Six the Musical

Lowry Theatre, Salford; daily til 14 August

The global hit production has come to the Lowry for a two-week run as part of a mega UK tour. The quirky shows takes the historic tale of Henry VIII’s six wives but with a modern spin - each queen discusses who suffered the most under Horrible Henry as they battle to become the lead singer in a reality TV style band. Stomping soundtrack and lots of fun, it’s a hot ticket.

It’s not every day you get to have dinner with the Mafia - here’s your chance.

Michael Franzese is a former high-ranking member of the Mafia - but he’s now turned his back on the mob and is a best-selling speaker and author with a story to tell

Chasing the Line: the story of women’s football

National Football Museum, Manchester; daily til 31 December

The nation is still smiling after England Women’s historic Euro 2022 win. But why has it taken so long for the women’s game to get the attention it deserves?

This fantastic exhibition sheds some light, telling the story of how the FA banned popular women’s teams from playing in major football grounds 100 years ago - and bringing the tale right up to date with a look at the present day.

Entry is free for Manchester residents with proof of address.

Funtopia festival

Woodbank Park, Offerton, Stockport; Wednesday 10 August

Help keep the little ones entertained with a jam-packed day of fun, including inflatables, sumo suits, a visit from Terry the T-Rex and a chance to learn circus skills.

It’s suitable for under 10s, and there is a special area set aside for under 5s which features bouncy castles, soft play and ride-ons.

If the surname rings a bell, you’re right - Noah is pop sensation Miley Cyrus’ little sister and the daughter of country star Billy Ray Cyrus. But the singer songwriter has been carving her own path and it’s been six years since she released her debut single, Make Me (Cry), with vocals from Labrinth. This intimate gig comes ahead of the release of debut album, The Hardest Part.
