There’s always plenty going on in Manchester at the weekend and this weekend (Friday 4 November to Sunday 6 November) is certainly no exception. We’ve rounded up just a selection of the events you can head to which are taking place in the city.
Manchester 360º: Weekend Takeover
Victoria Baths, 4-6 November
There are still some tickets left for the Manchester 360 takeover of Victoria Baths this weekend. Three different DJs – Darius Syrossian, Lee Burridge and Dimitri from Paris – plus special guests will be playing across the three days. So if you’ve ever wanted to go to a rave inside the empty swimming pool of a Grade II listed building, now is your chance. Tickets start at £29.50 and can be purchased via Fever. The Friday event is at 5-11pm with last entry at 7pm, and on Saturday and Sunday it will take place from 2-10pm, with last entry at 5pm.

Hide AdArt-lovers, this one’s for you. Independent artists and galleries from all over the UK will be selling and showcasing their work at the Manchester Art Fair this weekend. The event aims to make art buying “accessible and enjoyable,” and even if you’re not looking to purchase anything, there will be plenty of modern and contemporary paintings, sculptures, prints and more to take in and enjoy. Tickets cost £6 and can be found on the event website. Under 16s get in for free.
Disney on Ice: Dream Big
AO Arena, 2-6 November
Disney on Ice is back in Manchester this weekend with a show featuring characters from Disney favourites, including Frozen, Moana and Beauty and the Beast. Tickets start at around £30.50 and can be found on the AO Arena website.
The Shawshank Redemption
The Lowry Theatre, 31 October – 5 November
A stage version of the Stephen King novella comes to the Lowry this week. It tells the story of a man wrongly imprisoned on a double life sentence, who then strikes up an unlikely friendship with the prison fixer Red. The play stars Eastenders and Doc Martin actor Joe Absolom. Tickets start at £16 and can be purchased from the theatre’s website.
Experience the Royal Opera House
Arndale Centre, Saturday 5 November
You don’t have to travel to London to watch world-class ballet and opera at the country’s most prestigious venue this weekend. The Royal Opera House is promoting its new online streaming service by screening extracts from performances by the Royal Opera and the Royal Ballet in the Manchester Arndale from 10am to 6pm. The shows include Swan Lake, La Traviata, The Nutcracker, Tosca, Romeo and Juliet and Rigoletto.
