Take That musical Greatest Days to run at Manchester Palace Theatre: dates & how to get tickets

The official Take That musical will be touring the UK - with a string of dates confirmed for the Palace Theatre.

A musical based on the music of Take That is coming to Manchester’s Palace Theatre next May.

Greatest Days will be in Manchester from 16 to 27 May 2023 as part of a UK and Ireland tour that will stop off at 30 different cities.

The musical tells the story of a group of friends and life-long Take That fans who reunite after 20 years to see their favourite band and features 15 of the group’s hit songs from their 30-year career.

Casting for the stage show is yet to be announced.

It is written by Olivier award-winning playwright Tim Firth, who previously collaborated with Take That’s Gary Barlow on the stage version of Calendar Girls and, most recently, as director of the singer’s solo show A Different Stage.

The tour is set to coincide with the release of the film adaptation of the musical starring comedians Aisling Bea and Jayde Adams, which will be hitting screens in summer 2023, and the 20th anniversary of Take That’s first number one single Pray.

Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Mark Owen, Robbie Williams and Jason Orange formed Take That in 1989 and went on to become one of the most successful pop acts in British history with over 45 million records sold worldwide and 12 number one hits in the UK.

This is the second iteration of the stage show, which was originally titled The Band and ran for a limited time on the West End in 2018-19 after debuting at Manchester Opera House in 2017.

Take That said: “We are so thrilled that this new production now titled ‘Greatest Days’ is launching next year.  We had an enormous amount of fun working on the original version and can’t wait to help bring this new production to over 30 cities across the UK and Ireland from May 2023.”

How to get tickets for Greatest Days: Take That musical

Tickets will go on sale on 14 October and will be available from the theatre’s ticket website. Or you can call the box office on 0844 871 7615.

More dates are yet to be announced in other cities, including Blackpool, Glasgow, Bristol, Nottingham, Edinburgh, Southampton, Truro, Leeds, Leicester and Birmingham.
