Summer Daze: what’s on at the Trafford Centre entertainment spectacular including splash park, funfair & music

The Trafford Centre is pulling out all the stops for the summer with its biggest outdoor entertainment event to date.

Summer Daze will run at the retail and leisure hub between July and early September and includes an all-new splash park, a huge beach and upgraded funfair as well as live music.

There’s also a big summer of sport to enjoy at the centre as well as classic film screenings and a new food and drink zone.

So if you need somewhere to head for a day out this summer, here’s what you need to know.

What’s on at the Trafford Centre this summer?

The next few months at the Trafford Centre are dominated by the massive Summer Daze event between 22 July and 4 September.

The outdoor event will span 2.5 acres of activities for all the family to enjoy and will be located outside the Great Hall.

The iconic funfair will return along with a 600 square metre beach and a new 200 square metre splash park with multiple water jets.

The fairground will have an exciting new ride called Sea Storm, where people can ride a wave in individual cruisers, along with perennial favourites such as the log flume, bungee trampolines, the wave swinger, water balls, the pirate ship and bumper boats.

There will also be a live music and a new food and drink zone, but details of these have yet to be announced.

The Trafford Centre is also the place to be during a massive summer of sport with big screens bringing you all the action.

The venue will be showing Wimbledon from 27 June to 10July, the Tour De France from Friday 1to Sunday 24July, the Women’s EURO football championships between Wednesday 6 and Sunday 31July, the Athletics World Championships from Friday 15 to Sunday 24 July, the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham between Thursday 28 July and Monday 8 August and the European Championships Athletics from Thursday 11 to Sunday 21 August.

It will also be screening the Vuelta a España cycling classic from Friday 12 to Wednesday 31 August, The Hundred cricket tournament between Thursday 1 and Saturday 3 September, the Tour of Britain cycling between Sunday 4 and Sunday 11 September and the Rugby World Cup 7’s in South Africa from Friday 9 to Sunday 11 September.

The big screens will also be showing classic films throughout the summer, but further details for these are not out yet.

What do I need to do if I want to attend the Summer Daze?

Entry to Summer Daze is on a first-come, first-served basis and will be open from 12pm daily.

The only element of the outdoor event which is available to pre-book is the fairground. To do that, visit the Trafford Centre’s website here.
