What is Red Nose Day?

Red Nose Day is where one night of the year, comedians, actors and other famous icons from over the world come together to raise money for the charity Comic Relief, whose aim is to end hunger and child poverty.

Comic Relief was founded in 1985 by Sir Lenny Henry and Richard Curtis, in response to the famine in Ethiopia and has since raised over £1 billion to combat poverty and hunger all over the globe.

It aims to not only end hunger for children, but to provide them with basic human necessities such as clean drinking water and give them a chance to get a good education.
