Thousands of Sir Paul McCartney fans have been left frustrated amid the scramble for tickets on Friday.

The Beatles icon is playing Co-op Live on December 14 and 15 as part of his ‘Got Back’ world tour. They are the only two dates scheduled in the north with the other two taking place at London’s O2 Arena.

Fans reported being stuck in queues of thousands in the fight to get tickets from Ticketmaster on Friday morning at 10am. Following a warning from Co-op Live ahead of Wednesday’s pre-sale, X was also once again full of spam accounts offering to sell tickets as general sale began.

Prices are believed to have started from as little as £30 but many who got through found that only those in the region of £600 were available.

Complete with a screengrab, @MaranelloGTO posted: @PaulMcCartney £600 a ticket?! Are you serious?”
