Manchester Pride will see thousands gather in the city across the bank holiday weekend.

The celebration takes place primarily at Manchester’s Gay Village, and with roads closed over the weekend you might be hoping to get to the event via public transport or on foot.

Is there an Accessibility Team at Manchester Pride 2022?

A dedicated Accessibility Team will be on hand across the weekend to support any individual with access needs.

The event website has more information on this in their Accessibility hub. A spokesperson for Manchester Pride said: “We are dedicated to making sure our events are accessible to everyone.

“This year we have and will continue to conduct numerous accessibility listening groups, we will also be seeking expert advice from relevant disability charities and communities who we feel can offer valuable input on our accessibility offerings for all of our events.”

Where can I park at Manchester Pride 2022?

With road closures and heavy traffic expected, getting to the Gay Village and a spot to watch the parade may be easier to do on public transport or on foot.

However, if these aren’t an option, have no fear as parking is aplenty across Manchester.

There are plenty of city centre car parks in Manchester, with several NCP car parks located close to the Gay Village and to the parade route.

NCP Car Park Sackville Street is the closest to the village as it is in fact located within the village.

Car parks at ChinaTown and Chorlton Street are also located close by to the village.

How can I get to Manchester Pride via tram?

According to organisers, the easiest way to get to and from the Gay Village and the Parade is via Metrolink Tram.

For the Gay Village, use the Piccadilly Gardens stop and for the Parade Deansgate Castlefield and St Peters Square are the recommended stops.

How do I get to Manchester Pride via train?

The nearest train stations to the event are Manchester Piccadilly and Oxford Road, both of which are less than 10 minutes walk from the Gay Village.

How do I get to Manchester Pride via bus?

Take a bus to Manchester Piccadilly Gardens. From there, the Gay Village Party event site is a two minute walk and just across the road.
