I went to The Manchester Flower Festival - here's what you can do

The Manchester Flower Festival started today and it was so lovely. The festival is on from the 23rd to the 26th of May so it’s a brilliant way to spend your bank holiday!

They are mainly located around Exchange Square near Zara, however I would suggest going to the information stall and grabbing yourself a map so that you know where everything is as they are all numbered.

There’s lots of food and independent stalls open so you can get yourself a full meal, alcoholic drink and a sweet treat.

Alternatively, you can have a look for some new jewellery, a bouquet of flowers or some new flower-themed artwork from the vendors.

The displays themselves are beautiful and follow a locations theme. For example, there is Paris, Mumbai, New York, China and Amsterdam to name a few places.

All of these have been made by local florists which is great to know that you are supporting local business and art.

My favourite display was Marrakech as it is clearly modelled off of The Secret Garden there, which if you have never been is so peaceful and calming. This was a lovely little slice of that.

Additionally, there are free workshops for kids to take part in, such as: a family workshop with plant cooperative and flower crafting.

There are some workshops that you have to pay for as well though such as the plant hanger and flower paper lantern workshop.

Don’t miss out on The Manchester Flower Festival this weekend!
