Manchester World Indoor Tour 2022 to feature top Olympic athletes

The Manchester World Indoor Tour will bring some top athletes to the city this weekend.

The Manchester World Indoor Tour is one of 21 Silver and Bronze events due to take place across Europe ahead of the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Belgrade in March.

The Tour will be held at the Manchester Regional Arena on the Etihad campus and give competitors the chance to win qualification and ranking points for the World Athletics Championships in Oregon and the European Athletics Championships in Munich later this year.

Star attractions include the women’s pole vault featuring European silver medallist Nikoleta Kiriakopoulou from Greece, the men’s shot-put which includes 22 metre-plus performer Bob Bertemes from Luxembourg and European indoor silver medallist Fanny Roos from Sweden against Chase Ealey from the United States in the women’s shot-put.

The Tour is on Saturday 22 January.
