Manchester City looked to be storming to their fourth Premier League title in five years until the Christmas break. It would now appear that football fans will be in for a dramatic title race as Liverpool sit just one point behind Pep Guardiola’s side after a 10-match winning streak.
Meanwhile, Manchester United will continue to fight for a European spot as any hopes of reaching the Champions League appear to be very slim now.
United’s most recent success came on 12 March as they beat Tottenham Hotspur 3-2, but after losing to City 4-1 and drawing with Leicester City 1-1, Ralf Rangnick will have to fight even harder in the final few fixtures if the Red Devils are to stand a chance of making it in Europe in 2022/23.
City will have no fears of dropping out of Europe and will now look to secure as many trophies as possible.
Guardiola and his men will face Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday for what could be a title-deciding match, while also facing the Reds in the FA Cup semi-finals on Saturday 16 April.
The Catalan will also hope his side can prevail over United’s recent opponents, Atletico Madrid, as they take on the Spanish team in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
