Man Utd came from behind to defeat Leicester in the FA Cup fourth round.

Ruben Amorim says Manchester United fans can expect to see a lot more of Patrick Dorgu on the right after he made his debut for the club in their dramatic FA Cup comeback win over Leicester.

United prioritised the addition of a left wing-back in the January transfer window and heralded the 20-year-old as a world-class asset who would play a key role in their side for the years to come. Dorgu is expected to predominately feature as a left wing-back during his time at the club but made his debut playing on the opposite flank against Leicester, with Diogo Dalot retaining his role as a makeshift option on the left.

The Danish defender only played the first-half before he was replaced by Alejandro Garnacho and after the game, Amorim was asked about the surprising selection decision.

“He played a lot of time at Lecce on the right and the left. That is one of the characteristics we pay attention to a lot, to have a player like him. He was a little bit anxious with first touch of the ball. It’s a different league for him, different speed of the game, but he did well. He had pace, strength, he will improve a lot and we as a team need to play better to help these new guys to perform at the right level. The position, you can see in WyScout he can play both sides.”

When asked if we can expect to see more of Dorgu in that position, he added: "Yes, yes. If you see the history of Dorgu in the last team he played a lot of games on the right. We have to have wingers who can play both sides like Dalot. It’s a really important thing, sometimes you need a left foot on the right side to come inside and connect in a different way, and sometimes you need a right-footer to connect and cross more balls.”
