Jordan Pickford has vowed Everton will “run all over” Manchester United this weekend.

The Toffees are aiming for revenge after suffering a 3-0 defeat at Goodison Park earlier this season. That game became famous for Alejandro Garnacho’s wondergoal as the Red Devils stormed to a convincing win.

Both clubs remain fighting at opposite sides of the table, with Everton battling relegation and United tussling for a Champions League spot. Sean Dyche’s side arrive knowing they are facing a Red Devils outfit short on confidence following back-to-back Premier League defeats.

From a United perspective, they can view a potential league double over Everton as the perfect opportunity to kick-start their top-four hopes. The Toffees are yet to win a top-flight fixture in 2024 - a 10-game run stretching back to December 16.

They have also won just once at Old Trafford in 32 years, a 1-0 triumph against David Moyes’ United outfit just over a decade ago. Despite their poor run, England No.1 Pickford has backed his teammates to expose United - claiming Ten Hag’s side are inconsistent and can be bullied off the park.

“For me, I think the intensity and the work rate the lads give out, the running stats (will be better than theirs),” he said. “I think we will be able to get after them. We will be able to run all over them. They have got a few injuries as well.

“But you never know which Manchester United will turn up on the day. It is about us focusing on ourselves, and the manager and the staff setting out the game plan. We will try to execute that and get the results.”
